Our innovative pathways at SBK8 engage students as early as kindergarten, weaving career-focused themes into everyday learning so that by the time they reach middle school, they’re primed to transition seamlessly into high school CTE programs. Beginning with foundational explorations such as inquiry projects, problem‐solving challenges, and hands-on activities, our youngest learners develop the curiosity and communication skills that underlie both aerospace and health science pathways. This intentional progression ensures that every Bobcat, from Kindergarten to Eighth Grade, builds the knowledge and habits of mind needed to excel in specialized high school courses and, ultimately, careers in these dynamic fields.
In our Aerospace pathway, students progress through units in Aerospace Terminology, Aviation & Space Exploration, the Engineering Design Process, and industry-standard Tools & Technology, applying design thinking to real-world challenges and cultivating the skill set of tomorrow’s designers and innovators. Likewise, our Health Science & Athletic Injury pathway guides learners through First Aid & Safety, Medical Terminology, Evaluation of Injury, and the same Tools & Technology framework, preparing them as observers, researchers, and evaluators who can communicate critical information in high-pressure situations. By starting early and moving deliberately, we prepare SBK8 students for success in high school CTE pathways and beyond.
